This policy paper presents a set of recommendations calling for crucial support from the university administration to ensure a comprehensive and student-driven response to the mental health crisis at Huron University College, aiming to bridge gaps in accommodations and support, ultimately fostering a positive environment for the mental well-being of all students.

This policy paper proposes changes to current accessibility policies at Huron which may restrict students from equal access to our campus and resources. These changes generally include removing barriers to student independence, dignity, and academic success. In consideration of our expanding student population, the acute accessibility concerns that students are facing must be addressed.
